Our Story
The Lozen Project is a contemporary movement dedicated to the preservation and revitalization of Apache languages and heritage. We believe that language is the living thread that connects us to our ancestors and to our future.
Rooted in community revitalization efforts and engagement, we provide educational resources that empower community, including detribalized and reconnecting, Indigenous youth and elders to reclaim their heritage. Our mission is to ensure that our language remains spoken today and is a testament to the resilience and enduring strength of our people.

The Lozen Project is not centered around any one individual. It is a collaborative community effort shaped by relationship, shared responsibility, and the contributions of many people. Our council and team bring different experiences, skills, and perspectives to the work, while remaining grounded in accountability to community, language, culture, and future generations.
